The top most mobile maker in the world, Nokia has recently announced that it will change its business structure so as to create a unit which will focus on the smartphones. After this step is taken by Nokia, the business of the company will be divided into 3 units including Mobile Phones, Markets and a new division of Mobile solutions which will lay emphasis on segment of high end smartphones.
Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo , the Nokia Chief Executive stated that they are decisively moving in order to respond faster to the growth opportunities that they are expecting in mobile computers and smartphones
Anssi Vanjoki, the long time executive of Nokia will head the unit of Mobile Solutions and Richard Simonson who lead the key Mobile Handsets unit would step down. The head of the Mobile Devices Unit will be Mary McDowell and this unit will lay focus on the cheap phone that have helped Nokia to boost its sales and has lead the company to the top position in the global market. The Markets Unit of the company will be headed by Niklas Savander.
